The Brief
Crafting the World of an Icon
NOVAK’s challenge was to design and produce a diverse range of unique video and interactive media that helped bring to life a brand new Doctor Who adventure, while remaining faithful to the iconic stylings of this cherished character and the universe they inhabit. Across 17 different worlds we had to create media that harmoniously integrated into the show’s wider and very varied designs, while acting as key narrative devices, world building set pieces and ‘in-world’ marketing assets.

Our Response
Blending Storytelling with Cutting-Edge Design
Our approach combined technical expertise with creative storytelling, ensuring that each media element not only enhanced the production’s narrative but also immersed audiences fully in the Doctor Who universe. The content was meticulously designed to adapt to different environments, ranging from filmed sequences featuring iconic Doctor Who characters to interactive media consoles, bespoke animated infographics, in-world news reports, video-based illusions, and large-scale immersive projection. Beyond the in-show content, NOVAK also produced a series of ‘in-world’ launch videos that extended the experience beyond the event location, drawing audiences into the story before they even arrived. This cohesive and multi-layered approach ensured that the production felt truly expansive, delivering a thrilling and immersive adventure worthy of the Doctor Who legacy.
