The Brief
Bringing Verne’s Worlds to Life in Light and Motion
NOVAK was tasked with creating a projection that paid homage to the boundless imagination of Jules Verne while seamlessly integrating with the grand architecture of the Singapore Art Museum. The challenge was to translate Verne’s literary landscapes into a visually compelling narrative that resonated with modern audiences while maintaining the essence of his 19th-century vision. The projection needed to reflect the spirit of adventure that defines Verne’s work—where technology and discovery unlock new worlds—while also showcasing the technical precision and artistry of large-scale projection mapping.

Our Response
An Epic Expedition Across Extraordinary Landscapes
To bring Journey to life, NOVAK meticulously designed a series of immersive scenes, each inspired by a different Verne novel. From deep-sea explorations to celestial voyages and subterranean expeditions, the projection mapped seamlessly onto the museum’s façade, transforming its structure into a portal to Verne’s fantastical worlds. Using rich, cinematic visuals and a dynamic sense of motion, the artwork celebrated the interplay between invention and adventure, capturing the excitement and wonder at the heart of Verne’s storytelling. By merging cutting-edge projection mapping with classic literary imagination, Journey created a spellbinding experience that invited audiences to embark on their own voyage into the unknown.
